Abstract

589,930. Stuffing-box substitutes. COOPER & CO. (BIRMINGHAM), Ltd., and STOKES, F. P. March 26, 1945, No. 7523. [Class 122 (v)] An angle-sectioned sealing ring 10 of felt coated with rubber and graphite is mounted on the fixed shaft 21 and is pressed into engagement with the rotating pulley 22 by the spring washer 17. The sealing ring is enclosed in a metal casing 13 and is prevented from rotating by the tongue 16 on this casing engaging the pin 19.
