Abstract

588,049. Press button fasteners. HUELSTER, O. J. Nov. 15, 1944, No. 22593. [Class 44] A stud member for snap fasteners has a central tubular portion 19 one end of which has a circumferentially enlarged yieldable portion 19a, and a circumferential breast portion 11a comprising a curved wall extending outwardly from the other end of the central portion and continuing axially beyond the first said end to terminate in a reversely and inwardly turned flange, the breast portion protecting the yieldable portion and forming a recess around it for receiving the socket member of the fastener. The central portion may be split axially as at 20 to provide resilient fingers. In a modification the lower ends of the said fingers form an outwardly directed radial flange. In a further modification the yieldable portion comprises a spring ring mounted in a peripheral groove of the central member.
