737,703. Internal clamps; circlips. RING- SPANN-GES. March 11, 1953 [March 19, 1952], No. 6727/53. Classes 44 and 89(2). [Also in Group XXXII] An annular frusto-conical clamping element 1, Figs. 1, 2 has outer edge-face portions 2 forming parts of a first circle and inner edge-face portions 3 forming parts of a second circle concentric with the first. The edge-face portions are adapted to engage inner and outer cylindrical surfaces on two members to be clamped together, clamping occurring when the element is forced into a flattened condition. Each two adjacent edge-portions on the same peripheral edge are connected by a segment 6, at the centre of which is one of the edge-portions on the other peripheral edge. Radial slots may extend from the inner and outer peripheries of the element.
