585,853. Work - holders. BRAMALL, B. Dec. 6, 1944, No. 24368. [Class 83 (iii)] A device for mounting a vice or jig on the table of a machine tool such as a drilling- machine, comprises a main base E, to which the vice &c. may be attached, connected by two or more parallel links D to an intermediate plate C which is connected by similar links A to a subsidiary base B capable of being secured to the machine table. The base E may thus be moved by hand in any direction in a plane, within the limits of length of the two sets of links, to position the work under the tool, but is prevented from rotating with the tool. The links and plate are located in recesses P, Q in the bases, and if only two links are provided in each set the extent of movement is limited to prevent any link from making a complete rotation. Securing holes or slots are provided in each base and the vice &c. may be formed integral with, the base E.
