Abstract

584,796. Electromagnets. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and TREVASKIS, H. W. April 4, 1944, No. 6225. [Class 35] In a plunger-type electromagnet the coil 11 is in a magnetic shell 4, between end plates 23, which taper so that the cross section available to the flux at any point is equal to that of the shell, and one end plate has a boss 6 projecting axially towards the moving core 1. In the form shown, the moving core 1 is connected to two transverse springs 7, as in Specification 584,797, and relative rotation of the adjustable plunger 14 threaded therein is prevented by key 15 in keyway 16. The casing carries a plug socket.
