Abstract

583,992. Strap fastenings. RUSSELL & SONS, Ltd., S., and RUSSELL, W. H. Sept. 13, 1944, No. 17470. [Class 44] A fastening for the straps of document cases, or for other straps and bands, comprises a plate having slots or apertures, and a co-operating member adapted to enter one of the slots and having spring-pressed elements or balls engaging behind the opposite edges of the aperture. The plate 4, Fig. 3, with rectangular slots 5, is attached to the front of a case, for example, but spaced away therefrom by distance pieces. The sides 6 of the plate are turned down. The co-operating member on the strap 3 (shown turned back in the Figure) comprises a plate 9 bent to provide a channel or tubular part 10 in which are received housings 15, Fig. 5, each containing a spring- pressed ball 17 which when the member is pressed through one of the slots 5 engage behind the ends thereof. The fastening may be applied to belts.
