Abstract

583,462. Safety razors. LENTA, G. March 24, 1941, No. 3961. Convention date, Dec. 26, 1939. [Class 30] A safety razor has a two part guard, each part 2, 3, Figs. 2, 3, being secured to a handle part 5 so forming a medial slot 1 with central enlargement, the clamp 6 being inserted by a force between the parts 2, 3 but capable of sliding for a short distance 'in the slot 1 so that a lug 9 at one end of the clamp may be moved upwards at the enlargement, the clamp pivoting about a lug at the other end for blade cleaning or changing. The clamp is tightened by a handle rod, Fig. 7, having two grooves 16, 17 with a connecting groove 15 engaged by a lug on the handle to provide two different lengths of handle. The blade used has arcuate ends, Fig. 11, with a central hole and with two hemispherical recesses to receive the lugs 9 which agree in spacing with the standard three-hole blade. In a modification, Fig. 10, the handle has spring cheeks made rigid by a ring having side plates 21 and push members 20.
