Abstract

582,857. Tubular building units. HEMS, H. July 7, 1944, No. 12986. [Classes 20 (ii) 'and 20 (iv)] Lengths of tube 10 are assembled to form pillars and have flanged brackets 18 engaging the edges of spaced building blocks 20, 21 to form a wall, and further brackets 19 for bracing bars 11. In the form shown, a sleeve on one tube fits in or on the end of the next tube and may be secured thereto by a bolt or screw, and the lowest tube has flat feet which may be secured by bolts to a concrete foundation. The bars 11 are inclined to each other and to the horizontal and at the corners angle posts 22 and posts 23 are provided, Fig. 1. The upper ends of the pillars may be connected by ceiling joists 30, Fig. 4, and may also support a detachable roof structure 25 having sleeve-like portions 26.
