577,156. Hinges; fastenings. ALFALAVAL CO., Ltd., and CLARK, T. L. April 21, 1944, No. 7422. [Classes 44 and 65 (ii)] A combined hinge andfastening, which can be converted to a fastening only by merely removing the hinge pin, so that a door having the device at each edge is readily adaptable to open about either edge, comprises a pair of lugs 2, slotted at 8, on the door frame 1, a lug 12, bored to receive a hinge pin 9, on the door 10, and a pair of limbs 3 pivoted to the lugs 2 and carrying a pivoted handle with an eccentrically-pivoted end 6 which can be engaged with the lug 12 to force the door against its seating, movement of the door on the hinge side being allowed by the slots 8.
