552,543. Hook fastenings. FERRO-STEEL STRUCTURES Ltd., SAADY, M., and VANNECK, V. P. BOURNE-. Feb. 12, 1942. No. 1872. [Class 44] A toggle hook fastening for the lids of ammunition lockers, manholes &c. comprises a bifurcated mild steel block 9 pivoted at 8 on a lug 7 secured to the container lid 3 and having pivoted thereon at 13 a yoke-form member 14 which carries an adjustable hook-ended bolt 16 with lock-nut 19. The hook end 15 of the bolt engages a hook-like abutment 17 secured to the wall 1 of the container. The pivot pins 8, 13, bolt and lock-nut may be of brass or phosphor bronze, the remaining parts preferably being mild steel. A latch or handle 12 is welded or otherwise secured to the block 9.
