Abstract
575,628. Sliding-clasp fastenings. WINTERHALTER, M. Dec. 23, 1943, No. 21575. Convention date, Dec. 28, 1942. [Class 44] The closed end of a sliding-clasp fastening has a member 15 that has two heads 16, 18 and a recess 17 into which the head of an element 14b enters. After the slider has been passed over the member 15, the jaws are deformed to grip permanently the element 14b and so form a stop. The heads 16, 18 and the element 14b may be provided with lateral surfaces to prevent lateral displacement and may in addition be secured together by soldering, welding, sticking or by means of a metallic coating. Fig. 15 shows an arrangement where a pin 21 is used in addition to hold the parts together. Other constructions are shown in which a bent clip is fitted with one leg fitted to the member 15 and the other to the element 14b. The open end of the fastener is fitted with a member 6 having a recess 7 against which the element 4a abuts and prevents further closing of the fastener ; in this construction the elements 4b and 8 bear against the wedge 5 of the slider when it is in its extreme position.
