852,456. Sliding clasp fastenings. ILOTTE, V., and CRIDA, C., [trading as FABBRICA ITALIANA CERNIERE LAMPO DI ILOTTE, V. & CRIDA, C.]. Feb. 26, 1959 [Feb. 9, 1959], No. 6749/59. Class 44. A self-locking slider for sliding clasp fasteners comprises a slider body 1 provided with an overhanging bridge piece 2 integral with the body at one end 2a and having a gap 2b at the other end to allow for assembly of a pull member 7, the gap 2b being subsequently closed by deformation. The bridge piece 2 is formed on one side with a seat 3 adapted to house a vee-shaped spring 4 which is preferably sheared from a sheet of spring metal and has an extension 5 at one end rigidly fixed in a correspondingly-shaped portion of the seat 3 with its free end 6 protruding through the slider body 1 so as to engage a fastener member on the stringer and thus lock the slider. Release of the spring 4 from the locked position is effected by pulling the member 7 in either the opening or the closing direction.
