563,551. Fuel injection pumps. AKTIEBOLAGET ATLAS DIESEL. Feb. 15, 1943, No. 6044/44. Convention date, March 7, 1942. Divided out of 563,539. [Class 102 (i)] In a fuel injection pump for internal-combustion engines, the fuel is injected in two stages, but continuously, in the first stage at a relatively low pressure and in the second stage the pressure is increased from the value of the first stage to its maximum value without any lowering of pressure.taking place between the two stages, by means of a single radiallyacting cam 8 having a part a<1>-b<1> with a slight rise sufficient to keep the preliminary injection at a substantially constant pressure, and a following part b<1>-c<1> with a sharper rise to move the pump piston 2 rapidly during the main injection.
