Abstract

558,542. Pressure regulating valves. WEIR, Ltd., G. & J., and HILLIER, H. Dec. 31, 1942, No. 18567. [Class 135] A pressure. regulating valve loaded by a pressure chamber has a spring 16 interposed between the valve member 9 and the pressure sensitive actuating member 3. The valve member 9 has a cylindrical enlargement 10 slidable in a ported skirt 8 formed on a seat member 7. The valve spindle 18 slides in a guide bush 17 screwed to a yoke 14 and has a screwed part adapted to receive a nut 19 for adjusting the tension of the spring 16. The actuating diaphragm 3 is clamped peripherally between the main casing 4 and a stop plate 23 supported by a dome 1. Centrally the diaphragm is clamped between a pair of plates 12, 13 secured to the yoke 14 by a coned part 14' and a nut 14a. Upward movement of the diaphragm is limited by the plate 13 contacting the stop plate 23 while downward movement is limited by the plate 12 engaging a shoulder 24 on the casing. The nut 19 slidably engages a guide socket formed in a cap 22 screwed in the lower end of the casing.
