Abstract

554,419. Carburetters. SOLEX, Ltd., and PRAT, L. Jan. 1, 1942, No. 42. [Class 7 (iii)] An accelerating-pump 17 is operated, when the throttle 20 is opened, to supply fuel to an outlet 16 discharging into the air bleed 8 of the fuel jet 6, the area of the air bleed being thus reduced by the entering fuel, as well as additional fuel supplied to the jet. In a modification, the air bleed is arranged at the top of an emulsifying-tube arranged in the main jet, which has lateral outlets delivering downwardly into the air stream.
