Abstract
553,440. Fluid-pressure servomotors. CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO., Ltd., and EDGE,:S. H. Oct. 20, 1941, No. 13476. [Class 135] A hydraulic control mechanism has an externally actuated controlling reaction valve adapted on operation to divert the power available m a continuously flowing hydraulic circuit to actuate hydraulic mechanism connected to the apparatus under control and to the movable control valve housing. In the form shown in the Figure a single-acting piston y adapted to actuate a rod z is mounted on a cylinder e continuously supplied with liquid by a pump b housed in a reservoir a. The passage of liquid from the cylinder back to the reservoir is controlled by a valve j cooperating with a seat m formed on one end of .a movable cylinder h connected by a lever u turning on a fixed pivot v to the piston rod x. The valve j is formed on a piston i subject to the same pressure as acts on the piston y and is actuated by a hand-operated bell-crank lever p turning on a fixed pivot q.
