Abstract

539,722. Hinges. CO-OPERATIVE WHOLESALE SOCIETY, Ltd., and SIMS, P. E. May 21, 1940, No. 8987. [Class 65 (ii)] A hinge for a collapsable table leg &c. 9 comprises a pair of angle plates 1, 5 fixed to the sides 3, 4 of the table and provided in the parts 5 with straight and angle slots 6, 8 engaged by pin 11, 12 on plates 10 carried by leg 9, the arrangement being such that when the pins are in the position of Fig. 1 the leg is locked against hingeing movement, and when the leg is moved in a straight line parallel to the slot 6 so that the pins move to the lower ends of the slots, the leg may turn en the pin 11, while pin 12 travels in the curved part of slot 8.
