[Class 52 (iii)] In tables of the type having a fixed top A and folding leaves A<1> at each side supported by gate-legs B, two legs A<2> are rigidly attached at diagonally opposite comers to the underside of the table top, and the gate-legs B are mounted one on each of two arms C pivotally carried by a batten D extending diagonally across and rigidly fixed to the underside of the table top A. The arms C are slotted at their inner ends to pass through slots in the batten and pivoted by vertical pivot pins c, or metal hinges may be used. Stops a<1>, a<2> limit the swinging movement of the legs, which rise up and fall behind ramps a<3> when the leaves are in the fully-extended position.
