Abstract

538,313. Locking nuts; bolting. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. Jan. 27, 1940, No. 1676. Convention date, Feb. 8, 1939. [Class 89 (i)] Nuts on two closely adjacent bolts are locked by washers having intergaging pinion teeth 7 and recesses to fit hexagonal &c. projections 15 on the nuts. The number of teeth on the washers is one more or less than a multiple of the faces of the projections 15. The washers are secured in place by set screws 9 locked by bent up strips 111. The bolts are prevented from turning by means such as flats c on the heads engaging a projection a.
