[Class 89 (i)] Lock nuts or washers are cupped from stamped out sheet metal discs, with central openings notched at c, to form hexagonal flanges d on one side and a depression on the other side with the edges e set to form part of the thread helix. One or three notches may be used instead of two, according to the size of the bolt.
