530,705. Water gas generation. HUMPHREYS & GLASGOW, Ltd., and COHEN, H. T. June 17, 1939, No. 17724. [Class 55 (i)] The blow gases from a generator a are passed through a dust catcher e to recuperator b containing brickwork in which they are burned with secondary air from an inlet o, the hot combustion products then passing by a pipe h through a second recuperator c containing iron, steel or other refractory non-disintegrating material to a stack m. During a back-run, water is supplied by jets j to recuperator c, and the steam generated is super-heated in recuperator b, and used in the generator. Steam for an up-run is admitted by pipe k, l being the air blast pipe. Specifications 508,617 and 508,618 are referred to.
