Abstract

524,761. Fastenings. ALLART. Ltd., G., and ALLART, G. Feb. 7, 1939, No. 3941. [Class 44] A pivoted fastener member is held in its fastening and release positions by a catch comprising a helical spring a<3> and roller a<4> in a fixed housing a<2>, the roller having its axis parallel to the pivotal axis c<1> of the member and being adapted to engage one or other of two recesses a<6> in the pivoted member at its pivoted end, the recesses being separated by a cam surface a<5> over which the roller passes. A stop is also provided to limit movement of the pivoted member. Fig. 5 shows the invention applied to a hasp fastening in which an arm c is adapted to be swung into engagement with a fixed hook d, a spring-loaded slider e engaging behind the shoulder of the hook. A shoulder all on member c limits upward movement. The Specification also describes the application of the invention to a sash fastener and to the lever carrying the usual crush-bar of a panic bolt.
