Abstract

521,927. Alloys ; annealing. MALLORY METALLURGICAL PRODUCTS, Ltd. (Mallory & Co., Inc., P. R.). Nov. 28, 1938, No. 34626. [Classes 72 and 82 (i)] Copper alloys particularly suitable for use for welding and other electrical purposes contain 0À1-5 per cent. of chromium silicide or chromium beryllide or both and 0À05 - 5 per cent. of zirconium, with or without small amounts of other metals such as silver, zinc, cadmium, calcium, lithium, iron, cobalt, nickel, tin, aluminium, magnesium and manganese. The alloys are preferably heated to over 700‹C., such as 800-900‹C., quenched, and aged at under 700‹C., such as at 450‹C. for several hours, and they may be cold worked either after quenching or after ageing. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 512,142.
