Abstract

510,672. Elastic-fluid turbines. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 16, 1939, No. 8448. Convention date, March 18, 1938. [Class 110 (iii)] The upper and lower casings 10, 12, of a turbine are secured together by means of bolts 29 which pass through flanges 16, 24, 13, 21. The flanges are welded to the casings and to bracing ribs 18, 26. The inner flanges 16, 24 may be dispensed with, the ribs 18, 26 meeting in a joint face.
