526,846. Elastic fluid turbines. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 27, 1939, No. 9508. Convention date, March 26, 1938. [Class 110 (iii)] In a turbine having the diameter D for the first stage bucket wheel 13 of larger diameter than d of the second stage nozzles 18, means are provided to prevent working fluid whirling through more than 360 degrees in the annular space 17. The nozzles 16 extend only over an arc of a circle. A damper 24 is secured to the casing 10, and to the front of the diaphragm 19 to block the space 17.
