Abstract

507,225. Alloys; annealing. SCHICHAU GES., F. Aug. 26, 1936, No. 23410. Void. Convention date, Aug. 27, 1935. Application for Addition to 409,579. [Classes 72 and 82 (i)] Sealing parts for internal-combustion engines using solid pulverulent fuels are formed of an alloy as described in the parent Specification, the manganese being replaced by one or more of nickel, cobalt, titanium, chromium, tungsten, vanadium, molybdenum, silicon, and copper. The carbon content may be from 2-3 per cent, and the alloy may be subjected to annealing treatment below the pearlite point or, after working, to annealing treatment above the pearlite point. Alloys containing 8-10 per cent of manganese ; 20-25 per cent of chromium ; 5 per cent of manganese and 3À4 per cent of carbon ; and 5 per cent of manganese and 2À2 per cent of carbon, are referred to.
