Abstract

Parts of gas-turbines, which need high creep strength at temperatures of from 600-800 DEG C., are made from austenitic steel alloys containing at least 25 per cent of iron, from 25-35 per cent of nickel, from 0-3 per cent of silicon, from 0,3-0,8 per cent of carbon from 1-4 per cent of titanium, and from 0-10 per cent of molybdenum, the ratio of the titanium to carbon contents being greater than 3. The nickel content may be replaced wholly or in part by equal amounts of manganese or cobalt or both and the alloys may be annealed at a temperature of from 600-900 DEG C.
