Abstract

1343735 Refractory iron-base alloy SOC DES ACIERIES DU MANOIR-POMPEY 19 April 1971 [29 Jan 1971] 25266/71 Heading C7A A refractory iron-base alloy contains 0À5-0À2% C, 23-30% Cr, 30-40% Ni, 0À6-1À5% Mn, 1À0-1À8% Si, 0À5-1À3% (Nb + ¢ Ta), 0-1À00% Ti, 0-0À3% Mo, 0À04-0À2% N, not more than 0À05% (P + S), the balance being essentially iron, and the composition satisfying the equation:- 30 x C% + Ni% + 0À5 x Mn% + 16 x N% = Cr% + 0À5 x (Nb + ¢ Ta)% + 3À5 x Ti% + 1À5 x Si% + Mo% + 11 Œ 2. The alloy is stated to have high resistance to creep, thermal shock, thermal fatigue, and inter-granular oxidation, for example between 600-1250‹ C, and to be suitable for furnaces.
