Abstract

493,653. Ventilators. CARRIER ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and JONES, J. S. June 32, 1937, No. 17391. [Class 137] An outlet for air ducts is of rectangular form, and is provided with louvres 1, 2, 3 hinged at their outer ends, the louvres 1 and 3 being juxtaposed at their outer ends to the upper and lower walls of the outlet, The louvres are independently adjustable so as either to cut off the air supply entirely as in Fig. 3, or to direct the air upwardly, or downwardly as in Fig. 6. The louvres are mounted between end plates 4 which are lined with sheets of felt or rubber which secure the louvres in the position in which they are clamped by external set screws. The ventilator is conveniently mounted between a ceiling 11, and a false ceiling 11a.
