481,352. Ventilating ships. BLACHE, H. H., and REBBECK, F. E. Aug. 12, 1937, No. 22156. [Class 137] Air for ventilating the engine room of a ship is supplied by fans M and a main duct N to the space B below the floor plates A, the air issuing through openings G adjacent to the air intake E of each internal-combustion engine C, and through openings J to ensure uniform distribution. The foul air flows upwards to . the funnel L or to skylights. Separate blowers with separate ducts may be used for each engine room, and some of the air may be circulated through store rooms, or other rooms adjacent the engine room. Air ducts may be used to connect the engine air intakes to the openings in the floor plates.
