[Class 137] The air in enclosures is kept in the desired condition, particularly as regards temperature and humidity, by employing conditioned air in a thin sheet along concave surfaces which bound the enclosure. In Fig. 4, the conditioned air is supplied through two ports 14 which extend across one end of the egg-shaped enclosure, and is deflected along the walls by a funnel-shaped deflector 15. The two sheets of air meet at 16 and form a horizontal sheet 17 which escapes through a port 18 at the centre of the deflector 15. The air is conditioned in chamber 24 and is delivered by a fan to conduit 21. The whole is mounted on a platform 25 having wheels 26. Fig. 7 shows a bed 32 in an enclosure having a semicylindrical ceiling 33. An air conditioning unit under the bed supplies air in a sheet through ports 35 to the inner surface of the ceiling along which it passes to a shutter 36 controlling the outlet. In Fig. 9, an air-conditioning unit 41 supplies the air through a port 45 in thin sheets 46 along the curved wall 44 of an alcove having insulating packing 48. The ceiling of an enclosure may be formed in a series of arches 53, Fig. 10, the conditioned air being admitted through ports 54 at the intersections of these arches, and deflected upwards by deflectors 55.
