Abstract

492,282. Centrifugal machines. RAMESOHL & SCHMIDT AKT.-GES. March 16, 1937, No. 7742. Convention date, March 18, 1936. [Class 23] [Also in Group XXVI] In order to prevent transmission of oscillations of a centrifugal drum 1 to stationary conduits 12, 17, a casing 6 carrying independent packings 4, 5 for the drum channels 2, 3, is supported between elastic members 7, 8 provided with axial supports 9, 10; the member 8 forming also a sealing connection between the casing 6 and conduit 12. Adjustment of the packing is effected by a screw 13 acting through a spring 15 and the conduit 12. Cooling and lubricating liquid is supplied at 24 to passage 26 and is discharged at 25. Alternatively the liquid may be supplied through the hollow supports 9, 10, or the substance treated may be passed from chamber 16 around the packing.
