Abstract

An alloy steel for structural and other purposes contains up to 0,12 per cent of carbon, over 3 and up to 7 per cent of nickel, 3-7 per cent of chromium, and over 2 and up to 5 per cent of molybdenum, with or without up to 5 per cent of manganese or up to 5 per cent of tungsten or both, and usual amounts of silicon. Examples may be air cooled or oil quenched from 900 DEG C. followed by air cooling after tempering at 200, 500, or 600 DEG C. Specification 461,251 is referred to.
