Abstract

475,391. Fuel-injection pumps. YAMASHITA, O. Feb. 23, 1937, No. 5481. [Class 102 (i)] A fuel-injection pump has a suction port 9 which has a non-return valve 10 and communicates with the upper part of the pumping chamber 1. The plunger 3 has a recess 6 bounded by a helical surface 61 and a groove 7 connects the recess 6 to the pumping chamber 1. Delivery commences when the end 4 of the plunger closes the port 11 and ceases when the edge 6<1> opens the port 12. The byepass ports are connected to a passage which has a non- return valve 13.
