469,844. Vehicle spring-suspensions; laminated springs. LAWTON, A. March 25, 1936, No. 8843. [Classes 108 (ii) and 108 (iii)] A spring suspension for motor vehicles &c. comprises a quarter-elliptic spring 1 and an auxiliary spring 2, adjacent ends of which are secured together to the vehicle chassis, the other end of the spring 2 being pivotally connected to one end of a lever 3 connected at its other end to a vehicle axle 5, and the other end of the spring 1 being also connected to the lever by shackles 4, the arrangement being such that when the axle 5 lifts it causes the lever 3 to depress the spring 2 which acts as a shock-absorber.
