Abstract

452,059. Vehicle spring-suspensions. PATTERSON, R., 8, Campbell Avenue, Milngavie, Dumbartonshiro. May 2, 1935; No. 13068. [Class 108 (ii)] Relates to a resilient axle connection for laminated springs. As shown in Fig. 1, a plate is secured to the axle pad 0 and two U -bolts E embrace the laminated spring B with their ends passing through holes which are enlarged or tapered, additional springs F, J being interposed between the ends of the U-bolts and the plate X. In the case of an underslung axle G, the ends of the U-bolts pass through slots in the plate A and enlarged holes in the plate C rubber pads D and springs F being interposed. It is stated that the resilient mounting absorbs lateral shocks caused by centrifugal force in cornering.
