469,687. Vehicle bodies. HEACOCK, F. H., HAIGH, D., and LONDON PASSENGER TRANSPORT BOARD. Feb. 21, 1936, No. 5238. [Class 108 (i)] In vehicle bodies having skeleton framework including pillars formed of tubular metal having opposing channels for the reception of wooden or other fillets, the pillars are provided at their unchannelled faces with lugs each having an attachment member to locate the lug. As shown in Fig. 2, the pillar 11 having channels 12 is provided at each side with a lug 16 which is welded to a band 17 which completely encircles the pillar, the fillets 13 protruding sufficiently as to be flush with the band 17. Fig. 3 shows another form of attachment in which the lugs 28 are formed integrally with portions 26 fitting against the sides of the pillar and having inturned portions 27.
