Abstract

467,645. Seat adjustments. CHAPMAN, A. W. Dec. 21, 1935, No. 35425. [Class 52 (ii)] Mechanism for adjusting a seat on vertical or inclined guides includes a cross member cranked backwardly to accommodate the rotatable nut of the elevating gear, the nut working on a fixed screw and the cross member being arranged near the lower ends of the slide members. The seat frame 3 is pivoted at 4 to slides 6 running in fixed guides 7 secured, for example, to a bulkhead. The lower cross-bar 16 is cranked rearwardly at 17 and carries at that point a nut working on the fixed screw 12. The nut is rotated, to raise and lower the seat, by a crank 14 connected to it by gearing. The operating crank may be arranged at one side of the seat on a cross-shaft. The cross member 16 and pivots 4 may be arranged below the seat. Upper cross members 9, 10 carry a seat back 18. Specification 366,489 is referred to.
