Abstract
467,331. Skips. DEMAG AKT.-GES. Sept. 7, 1935, No. 13133/37. Divided out of and addition to 467,260 under which a Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, March 9, 1936. [Class 78 (iv)] The invention described in the parent Specification is modified in that the energy. converter and the auxiliary device are controlled by auto. matically operated valves In the embodiment shown the energy-converter 29 is operated by relative move. ment between the skip and a suspended cable 26, and the anti-breakage flap 30 is con. nected to a piston 32 which is actuated by fluid-pressure from the converter 29 under the control of valves 35, 36, 37. When the skip is at the bottom of the shaft, the piston 29b is raised to its uppermost position by the spring 28 whereby the pressure in the pipe 34a is reduced. If the skip is now loaded, the pressure in the pipe 34b is increased due to the weight of the charge on the flap 30, and the valve 37 is opened, thus permitting the flap to move slowly downwards. When the skip has been raised to a discharge position and emptied, on closing the door 38 the valve 35 is re-opened to allow the piston 29b to descend under the weight of the cable 26 and build up an increased pressure in the pipe 34a. This causes the valve 36 to open whereby pressure is transmitted to the pipe 34b to return the flap 30 to its operative position.
