466,513. Making paper &c. fastenings. TRUSSELL MANUFACTURING CO. Nov. 29, 1935, No. 33199. Convention date, April 24. [Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] [Also in Group XV] Angular bending.-A binding means for sheets having perforations along an edge comprises partly formed rings, formed from a long length of wire as shown in Fig. 5, or made singly from a piece of wire or sheet metal as shown in Fig. 10, each having end portions bent to the approximate curvature of a finished ring and an intervening portion 17 of reversed curvature such as to cause the ends to be spaced, whereby the rings may be inserted in the perforations in the sheets and completed by bending the portions 17 to the curvature of the end portions. The form shown in Fig. 5 may be made from a piece of soft wire which is first bent into a number of reversely disposed loops 13, 14 connected by straight portions 15 as shown in Fig. 2, whereby a series of prongs 16 are disposed in side by side relationship. The prongs are inserted through perforations in sheets of paper or other material, and cover boards, and the rings completed either by hand or by means of dies, the partly formed rings bending about the reversely curved portions 17 as centre to form substantially circular rings.
