Abstract

464,452. Padlocks. PADMORE, J. L., and BEDDOES, Ltd., J. G., (trading as TOURTEL MANUFACTURING CO.). Dec. 13, 1935, No. 34564. [Class 44] A padlock of the sealed type has a shackle 3 with a groove 2, for the reception of the end 7 of the locking lever 1, extending across the shackle in the direction of movement of the lever. The lever 1 works on a pivot 8 and its ends 7 is sufficiently long to pass completely through the groove in the shackle The tail of the lever 1 engages the tail 4 of the hasp, and the groove 2 with its engaging part 7 may be arranged straight across the hasp, or sloping as shown. Two locking levers may be used with a hasp having grooves on each side of it. The lock has a rectangular casing 5 and the seal plate 10 is of a similar shape and is provided with lips to fit behind the tongues 11 turned over from the casing.
