Abstract
462,288. Two-stroke-cycle engines. KADENACY, M. July 3, 1935, No. 19059. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi)] In engines in which the depression created in the combustion chamber by the mass exit of the exhaust gases is used for inducing fresh charge, the exhaust valve or port 6 is closed before the return flow of the burnt gases commences, but not until the incoming charge fills the cylinder and is entering the exhaust duct. As shown, the rotary-valve 6 closes the exhaust duct 4 at about the bottom dead-centre position of the piston. A supplementary charge, or supercharge, may also be supplied.
