Abstract

461,455. Securing electric - lamp caps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. (Patent-Treuhand-Ges. f³r Elektrische Gl³hlampen) Dec. 18, 1935, No. 35093. [Class 39 (ii)] In electric lamps and other devices with sealed envelopes which are provided with contact caps secured without the use of cement, an integral portion of the cap consists of a crinkled ring with an inner circumference which is initially smaller than that of the smallest neck to which the cap has to be attached. In the example the crinkled ring 15 is at the edge of the cap 12 which bears on the lamp, the stretching of the crinkled ring causing it to grip the neck of the bulb firmly. The neck of the bulb is provided in known manner with grooves 13 which co-operate with ridges 14 on the cap to prevent rotation. Longitudinal movement is also prevented by a leading-in wire connected between the pinch and the centre contact 10 of the lamp.
