Abstract

233,376. Redrup, C. B. Nov. 14, 1923. Regulating.-In an engine provided behind the exhaust valve 3 with an air-inlet valve 16 through which air is drawn in when the exhaust valve is kept open during a part of the suction stroke, the duration of opening of the exhaust valve is varied by means of an axially slidable cam 8<a> engaging an auxiliary tappet 9<a>. The cam 8<a> may be connected to the carburettor throttle.
