[Class 52 (ii)] A dining chair convertible into a child's high chair has carried by the back a series of hinged and linked members capable of unfolding to form the high chair. In one form, flaps 15, Fig. 1, are pivoted on vertical axes between cross-bars 11, 12 of the back, and hinge forward to form the sides of the high chair, and levers 20, 21 pivoted to the side posts of the back carry a member 24 which constitutes the back of the high chair when extended. A member 25 pivoted between the side posts constitutes the seat when folded down. A tray 26 is fixed to the levers 20, and a folding foot-rest 28 is connected to the levers 21 by links 27. The seat 17 of the dining chair may be hinged to the rear legs, and the front legs hinged to the seat so that the whole chair can be folded, links 32 and a strut 33 serving to hold the chair open in use. In the form shown in Fig. 3, a flap 45 forming the seat of the high chair is hinged to a cross-bar of the chair back, and a second flap 46 forming the back is hinged thereto. Levers 55 are connected to the flap 45 by links, and to the folding tray 48 and foot board 50 by links 52. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the rear legs 71 of the chair are moved rearwardly and the back 72 forwardly when the high chair is unfolded, the side posts being connected to the seat 73 by links 77 and to the support 86 for the high chair seat 74 by levers 82.
