450,326. Brackets ; ; stud - and - slot fastenings. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP IJZERHANDEL I. M. DE VRIES, and VRIES, A. DE, 6, Rokin, Amsterdam. Feb. 15, 1935, Nos. 5001 and 19145. [Class 44] [See also Group XIV] In a fastening applicable generally to members having mating surfaces which are flat, ruled, or surfaces of revolution, but particularly described as applied to stair-rod holders and to securing brackets &c. to walls &c., headed studs or projections on one member engage an undercut recess presenting a keyhole aperture in the other member and are retained against release movement by a spring-pressed plunger in one member engaging a socket in the other, the socket having an aperture, extending to the surface of the member, through which a pin or other pointed implement may be inserted to depress the plunger out of engagement with the socket. Alternatively, the depression may be effected by a pin attached to a flexible diaphragm covering the aperture. As shown, a bracket e supporting a towel rail f has a pair of undercut keyhole apertures h, i engaging a corresponding pair of headed studs a, b projecting from the wall &c. c, the plunger d being housed in the stud b and engaging a socket having an aperture k extending to the outer surface of bracket e. In place of headed studs and keyhole slots, dovetail projections and recesses may be used.
