[Class 44] A fastening particularly for securing trim panels to the door or body framework of a motor car comprises a flat base 40 adapted to lie flat against the inner face of the panel 31 with projections from the base adapted to engage apertures in the panel to secure the fastener thereto. One or more of the projections at one end have a tongue parallel to the base to engage the front face of the panel, the base at this end having an extension which overlies the rear face of the panel and carries the fastener proper for engagement with the door frame &c. Figs. 4, 6 show a base 40 with projections 41, 42 adapted to engage apertures .52, 51 in the panel, and form abutments preventing endlong movement. Projections 42 have tongues 43 .engaging the front face of the panel, whilst the base extension 44 lies against the rear face and merges into a spring-clip arm 48 detachably engaging the flange 22 of the door frame 21. In a modification, a single centrally placed projection 42, 43 is provided, struck out from a slot in the parts 44, 48. Fig. 8 shows a form in which the fastener comprises spring arms 67 capable of relative movement scissors fashion to allow the fastener to be snapped into an aperture in the frame. Fig. 14 shows a fastener having an up- . standing web 86 with spring side arms 88 to engage an aperture in the frame, and a modification is described in which the side arms are bent to lie in a plane parallel to, but stepped back from, the plane of web 86.
