Abstract

443,073. Closures for tins. ROBINSON, F. G., Canister Works, Southcoates Lane, Kingston-upon-Hull. June 17,1935, No. 17342. [Class 125 (iii)] A vacuum closure for a tin &c. has a packing ring 5 carried on the rim of the body of the tin 1 which co-operates with an inner closure 4 and in some cases also with the outer lid 1. This packing may serve for resealing the tin after opening or the outer lid may be provided with a second packing member. The inner rim of the body comprises an inwardly directed and downwardly recessed flange. The second packing member may be carried in an annular groove on the outer lid. The rim of the body of the tin may be integral therewith or attached thereto.
