Abstract
454,673. Bung-hole closures. MAUSER MASCHINENBAU GES., 28, Marienstrasse, Ehrenfeld, Cologne, Germany. May 28, 1935, No. 15494. Convention date, March 27. [Class 21] A bung bush a, Fig. 2, has a polygonal flange f, and is held by the edge c of the barrel &c. wall being pressed or rolled inwards against the side of the bush to engage beneath the under face of an upper flange k which also serves to secure a seating cap n. A packing g ensures a tight joint. The configuration of the bush may also be that shown in Fig. 3. In a further form a washer is carried in a recess on the under side of the bung flange.
