440,612. Valve amplifying circuits. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. May 18, 1935, No. 14606. Convention date, May 29, 1934. [Class 40 (v)] To prevent distortion in a push-pull Class B amplifier due to variation of anode supply voltage, the grid bias is varied in dependence on the anode voltage. The biassing resistance 6 of the push-pull pair 1, 2, is connected to a circuit comprising a voltage source U1 and a valve 9, so that the P.D. across 6 is dependent on the anode current of valve 9. A tapping is taken from a resistance 8 in the common anode circuit of the valves 1, 2, to a tapping on a further resistance 11 across a voltage source U2, the negative side of which connects to the grid of valve 9. Increase in anode voltage applied to valves 1, 2, from Ua decreases the grid bias of valve 9 ; the resulting increase in anode current of this valve increases the drop across resistance 6 and therefore the grid bias of valves 1, 2. The anode-cathode circuit of 9 is preferably shunted by a resistance 10.
